Q1. What do I get in the box?

The A4 box contains the following:

  • 1 x Virtual Burton 1881 CD-ROM
  • 1 x Learning Resources CD-ROM full of images, archive photography, sounds and animations
  • Registration number for 12 months access the Online Stories
  • Activity worksheets for classroom and home use
  • Colour sheets depicting the thirteen main characters
  • Colour map of Burton upon Trent
  • Museum leaflet

Q2. Do I need the CD-ROM in order to access the online resources?

Once registered, you do not have to use the CDs to access the online content. The box contains a registration number. This gives you 12 months access to the online stories and resources.

Q3. What type of topics do the stories cover?

The topics are everyday issues that face children at home and in the school e.g bullying, social exclusion. The products activity worksheets cover many topics appropriate for Key Stage 2 & Primary 6/7: Literacy, Numeracy, History, Art and Design, ICT and Citizenship.

Q4. How many different stories will there be each year?

Initially we plan to create 6 stories. Additional stories are to be added following feedback from registered users.

Q5. Why do I need to buy a licence?

The licence is included in the box. This gives you 12 months access to the online content. Additional information can be found at the online shop.

Q6. What if I want to use Victorian Britain on more than one computer?

The CD's contained in the box can be installed on as many computers on your site as you wish. Equally, the 12 month licence is valid for one site licence - such as a school or learning centre.
